LED moonlighting in aquarium?
I don't know much about moonlighting for aquariums....I am looking to upgrade to a 125 gallon aquarium (about 6' long), i plan on holding 2 piranhas and a couple other fish that could co-exist with them. Does anyone know anything about moonlighting.....how big should it be for this size tank? are you supposed to run it all day? how long do they last? is it harmful to the fish?

LED lunar lights are more for saltwater as our marine fish like to be on a day and night cycle.
For freshwater you want need this.
But if you want, you can always get a marine lighting system though more expensive, will have built in LED lunar lights that are blue, you can always just replace the blue actinic bulb for one that is better for freshwater plants like a 6500K bulb.
As far as your tank is concerned. A 125 will be fine for up to 4 piranhas. They arent really active or aggressive so if your looking for that you can go with another species of fish.
But if you decide to go with 2, you can put amoured catfish in, the common pleco did well with my single RBP.
Lunar lights for marine aquariums are usually on timers, as we dont need them on when the main lights are going. Most marine timers have 3 settings, day, night, and all/ We use the day for the two lights, the night for the lunar lights, and the all for the filtration.
