Marine Fish Supplies?
I have read many articles at http://www.nano-reef.com since I am new at this. I realize that a nano reef may be pricey but I am willing to buy the products as long as they are of good quality. I want to purchase supplies before I ever get any fish. I would like to know where I can purchase some of the following products. P.S. They have their own marine farming facility in which they do aqua culturing for marine species including fish, inverts, corals, etc.
For the power compact lights I recommend CORALIFE brand.
For the powerhead pump i recommend the KORALLIA nano version.
For reef salt you should get INSTANT OCEAN REEF CRYSTALS, which is specifically designed for reefs.
As far as the gravity meter the one I like the most is CORALIFE Deep Six. I have tried other brands and they are not well calibrated.
I wouldn't consider the heater to be necessary on such a small tank, specifically if you will have the tank indoors at room temperature. The power compact light will provide enough heat to keep the ideal temperature in the water at 74-82 degrees.
You can also consider purchasing a nano-reef ready tank. The NANO CUBE aquariums are really good and they are basically plug and play. They bring their own lighting system, cooling fan, water movement, 3 stage filtration, etc.
You will save some money if you get tgis complete package. The aquarium's shape is also very nice. They have a 24g deluxe version that should work for you.
