can a camera flash blind a fish?

i was wondering, because i know camera flashes can blind seahorses, can it blind an aquarium fish? i need to take some photos of my crowntail siamese fighting fish but our compact digital camera doesn't capture a picture fast enough without a flash.

I've taken pix of all my boys and all can still see!
the seahorse live at different light levels then a betta.
