Colony Lot
Are there any researchers or people who know a lot about the roanoke colony?

i need to find a guest speaker for my school project. anyone know any people near Oakland, California that studies or knows a lot about it? please answer quickly. i need to give my teacher sources by tomorrow.... Thx.

The Roanoke colony was a disaster before it started, like other colonies the people didn't have the slightest ideas what they were getting into.
When they landed they knew already they were lost and needed the support of the mother land, England. Storms from the fall and winter months made the ships wait to sail, this all took a tool on their supplies which were meager to start with.
The colony, left on their own while they waited for the arrival of ships bringing goods in vain, due to storms in the English waters.
I believe three years went by when the ships finally arrived, they found the colony empty, no bodies or grave sites.

They did find strange markings in trees that to this day are undecipherable.
There were/are tales of Indians many years later that had blue eyes and blond hair, the Mandan Indians from the Lewis and Clark expedition found them or some of them with blue eyes and blond and red hair. This is all speculation and some though the colony was attacked and taken prisoner and turned into slaves.
