Wheather the fish tank cleaner(electric pump) cleans the tank??

that is cleaner which in takes the water and cleans about that pump its good and how much??

there are 2 basic types of filters and veriences of them the first is the under gravel it uses water flow to pull water thru the gravel and allows the bacteria to do all the work they also have a carbon cartridge to catch small particals that most exsperenced people do not use

then you have canister type filters thease come in many verities one type sits in the tank uses carbon and a fiber filter miteral they work by pulling the water in useing an air pump and the filter fiber and carbon catch large and small particals
and also allow the good bacteria to take care of some waste
the tank gravel still plays a big part in the cleaning of the tank from harmfull things like dedaying food and waste because it holds the majority of good bacteria

than you have the power filters that hang on the back of the tank thease some times have 3 different filter materials in them at the same time the draw the water out and put it thru the filter material and back in again they tend to have carbon a filter material and some have whats called biofiltration all of thease things do basicly the same thing they hold good bacteria to break down waste the also catch small particals

also in thease types the tank gravel plays a big part since it stiil has more of the good bacteria

then there is an outside canster it basicly does the same thing

of thease the worst one is the intank canster I would advise staying away from

if you tank is getting cloudy odds are the filter is not the problem
the problem is probley a non cycled tank if you over clean you tank you can cause it to be non cycled
