Tropical fish come in a variety of different species. First of all, you have freshwater tropical fish, and saltwater tropical fish. These are the two main and distinct categories that all breeds of tropical fish can be divided into. Within these categories are different species. Did you know that piranhas, carnivore fish and other anti-social tropical fish all fall within the 'tropical' category?

The last thing you'd want, as a new owner of tropical fish, is to purchase tropical fish species such as piranhas or other related carnivores. Would you really want a flesh eating fish to be in the same fish tank as a beautiful yellow finned, delicate tropical fish species breed? I know I certainly wouldn't! So exercise due care and diligence when deciding which tropical fish species you would like to put in your tropical fish tank.

Now some tropical fish species don't get along with one another, even though they're not carnivores. Indeed, some tropical fish species are just naturally shy and don't mix with any other species other than their own. For this reason you may want to do a little research and ground work before deciding upon which tropical fish species you would like to integrate in your fish tank, as choosing two or more species that don't get along with one another won't be fun to watch at all!

Fish interaction is the main thing that makes keeping and maintaining a fish aquarium so interesting. If your fish live rather boring and dull lives, then you too will soon grow bored of looking at them! Whilst having a fish tank may be quite a novelty of sorts among your friends, if you want to have an enjoyable time watching your fish, then ensure you purchase the right types of tropical fish species.

Conduct further research into discus fish, freshwater tropical fish and saltwater tropical fish. There are so many different species and breeds to choose from that I couldn't even begin to attempt to list them here. Speak to your local pet shop store owner and ask them their opinion on what tropical fish species would be the most enjoyable to have within your tropical fish tank.

Do the groundwork now, and you'll save yourself hassle later! There's no point in just choosing some random tropical fish species, putting them in your fish tank, and hoping for the best. Planning how your fish tank will run before you've even set it up will lead you to long term enjoyment, and you'll be a new tropical fish hobbyist in no time.

Tropical Fish Water

Tropical sea fish are very different from their freshwater cousins, and their maintenance is a whole different ballgame. Sea fish and salt water aquarium require more maintenance and are much more expensive. Here are three tips to help you start and maintain your home aquarium.

1) Â Â Â Â Â Be prepared to spend more for saltwater fish.

Unlike freshwater fish, which are mostly reared in captivity (only 2% are caught in the wild), saltwater tank fish are almost all being captured at sea (96% or more of nature). Besides this, up to 60% of people die trapped in transport. Due to the difficulty of capturing and transporting the fish, expect to spend a significant amount of money acquisition.

2) Â Â Â Â Â The main reservoirs are essential for saltwater aquariums.

Sal require larger tanks of fish than their counterparts freshwater. For every 10 liters can be 3 inches of fish. As larger fish will require very large tanks. In most cases you want to go with 100 gallons or more. Smaller tanks severely limit the number and size of fish can have in your tank.

3) Â Â Â Â Water temperature is extremely important.

What fresh and cold water, tropical pool at the top of the tank?

I just created a reservoir of small fish and fresh fish han / Cold water, tropical (Loach / gum / Cory / Tetra / Barb) a total of 11 fish swimming with most of them in the middle or bottom of the tank. I have fish that swim around the top of the tank. Can anyone make some suggestions.

few species swim on top of the tank is gouramis and danios, or similar, but more often they are Coldwater, The White Cloud Mountain minnow, both lively shoaling fish. Good luck with keeping the fish!

Tropical Fish Mollies

Danios are a beginner fish for new aquarium owners of large, as they are considered hardy and do well with many other types of fish in his aquarium. The main consideration to bear in mind if purchasing Danios for your tank is to buy in groups of six. They tend to need another company to survive, but you can choose from varieties of danios.

You should keep your tank heated to 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 82 degrees in danios optimal temperature, but it may bring the fish in time to live comfortably in a tank heating water.

Danios could survive floating flake food alone, but it is beneficial to feed frozen at of dried bloodworms (which are the larvae of mosquitoes) and Black time to time.

Some of the best friends are Danios Rainbow Fish in aquariums, one Red Tail Shark or one Rainbow Shark, all types of filaments or more Gouramis (just try to capture Gouramis that are smaller than the danios to avoid conflicts) or schools of clown loaches, Bala sharks and loaches Yoyo. Sometimes they are also livebearers Mollies, and swordtail Plati in aquaria between Dani and Plecostomus Corydoras catfish and catfish.

Danios are unique in that it can be used as a reservoir of "peacemakers". Certain types of danios will distract fighting fish with aggressive fish the lowest. Male Betta fish are known to attack another if they are kept in the same tank, but they add a school of danios, and Bettas are distracted and mind their own business!

Danio species of fish live for several years, with sizes ranging from small 1.5 "zebra, Gold, Leopard Danio Pearl and great varieties of 5" length range of Giant Danio.

I just got tropical fish (Molly's / Mollies) Can eat pellets?

I have two Mollies Branch (today) and I totally got functional and tested the water tank. I gave them pellets - seems to nibble on them all the time, but the pills seem to be in danger of extinction and leave with them all the time. Should I wear plates in place? Help! I also ask their recommendations on brand / type? Thank you!

The grains are probably too big to swallow the little fish. Mollies are not very big mouth. Use a very small (not lowercase), pellets, or break into small pieces before putting them in Mollies do well on diets rich in vegetables, so use a vegetarian "fish for human consumption, such as Spirulina flakes. There are several brands of them. I love Omega One Veggie Flakes.

Betta fish are one of the most popular types of pet fish in our culture today, perhaps only for goldfish. Between you and me though, I prefer have one of these types of goldfish. In this article I have given some tips for beginners on Betta fish care and noted that some sources of help!

Basic Information: Bettas originate in or around Siam, which is what is called the "fight against Siamese fish. "Of course, if you look at a map of today will find no mention of Siam, as Thailand is the present. Betta fish live now, naively, in other countries in East Asia. Usually occupied by the ponds, rice paddies and slow moving streams.

Diet: In the feeding wild Betta small insects that stray too close either, or live in / on water. What this means is that they are primarily carnivores. A well-balanced diet to feed the Bettas, many live foods, diets enriched with nutrients such as flakes and pellets. I choose to feed my pellets he catches fish and a small ant to eat every once in a while! Owning your own aquarium is great fun, and I was keeping my own love for many years! There are more than 60 million of us "aquarium" in the world, and if it is a hobby that you are interested, it's worth a little time to learn what it is before you start.

So what is a fish tank? In simple terms, it is a transparent container where you can keep, feed, watch and enjoy fish live. Jar with a single fish in that account, but most people mean when they talk aquarium is a tank of large fish (usually rectangular) with several different types of fish and aquatic plants that live in balance with each other.

There are two basic types of environmental aquarium - freshwater and salt water. Fresh water is definitely easier for people who are new to the hobby, such as water salt (or "marine") tanks take a lot of attention and skill to keep the fish alive.

So your next step is likely to know what kind of fish you want. If you're lucky, you have friends that fish you can ask questions, but even a trip to your pet or in a store specialty fish you get lots of good advice from sales clerks. Find a fish that requires you to tell you what temperature your tank should be, and starting with a species is probably the easiest.

Then I get a good book on basic aquarium care, and read it before you start!

Then, start collecting your tank and equipment. You'll want to look for an aquarium is fairly robust great to give you room to add fish that your experience grows. Aquariums home practices vary from about 11 liters (3 U.S. gallons) up about one cubic meter (300 U.S. gallons) in size.

You need gravel or other substrate for the bottom of the tank. You will need a system filtration, to eliminate waste and phosphates from water and a radiator or cooling mechanism to maintain the proper water temperature. You may need an air pump to oxygenate the water, depending on the configuration of your tank. Also ask about a package of small chemicals to measure and correct the pH balance in water.

You want to study plants, rocks and other "aquarium furniture" that will in the tank. Choose carefully because the wrong materials can be harmful or toxic to your fish!

Get your tank set up and make sure the water temperature and pH balance is correct before returning to the store to get your fish! If you did everything correctly, Your fish will be healthy and happy, and you have a new hobby fascinating to learn and love!

Is there any type of saltwater fish that can live in a 3 gallon tank?

I found this tank on the internet and it can have saltwater in it. I have always wanted a saltwater tank and want to try this tank. The oly problem is that I cant find any type of fish that will live in a 3 gallon tank.

Is it possible for a fish to live in a glass bowl?

I'm planning to get a fish (gold fish in general) for a pet, and I'm wondering whether it's possible for fishes to live only in a glass bowl, without any electrical aid, like an air pump or oxygen pump. I want something really plain and simple, like the ones you see in movies where the side of the table is decorated by a glass bowl with a fish. So, if I were to get that, will the fish live?

Hi, I hope I can persuade you to change your plans! First off the simple answer to your question is yes it is possible for a fish to live in a glass bowl but it really isn't much of a life. Look at it this way-despite popular belief that fish are stupid, short lived & have a 3 second memory the facts are that fish are extremely intelligent, friendly, inquisitive, long-lived creatures with good memories & can grow well over a foot in length so to incarcerate one in a tiny bowl is plain cruelty.

He will have a miserable short life & will die from either suffocating on his own waste, 'stunting' where his internal organs grow while his body doesn't or he'll simply go stir-crazy in a featureless sphere with nothing to do. Those iconic images of Goldfish in bowls you see in Hollywood movies are borne out of nothing but pure ignorance where the feelings of a living creature are ignored & he is reduced to nothing more than an ornament for our entertainment.

Keeping fish is like looking after any other living creature that we choose to share our lives with-we have a moral duty to provide it with the best possible care & do as much research as we can to that end. No fish deserves anything less than a large, filtered tank with a fitted lid.
