How many tropical fish called Oscar time taken to reach a total size?

I recently bought a tank for my Oscar Albino, I also bought a different color of last week, is the size of the queue in the first I bought, now I said it would be great together, but my Albino began to attack and I have to put them in tanks seporate, how long it takes to grow, so you can put in the tank to another?

The growth rate of the Oscars, depends on the volume of water in the tank, clean water (low nitrite / nitrate), how to feed the Oscars and the food quality as well water temperature. In a tank of 29 liters, well filtered, with partial water changes a week and maintained at around 80 degrees F. diet-fed and protein-rich foods, I would say it was an inch Oscar Oscar could be a foot in about 2 years. Oscar I have not seen more than a foot except when grown in ponds in Florida. You can play foot easily if given enough space.

My wife and I have kept tropical fish, but we wanted to do something different. We have therefore decided to reconstruct the fireplace - a cases without typical modern real quality or style - by 7 feet long by 4 feet deep paradise for fish ... and finally, in a sanctuary of African cichlids ...

Having obtained real smart mathematician to work that the weight of the water tank was actually tolerable in our house (! - Never believe How many people do not see that, especially in apartments), we set about planning the aquarium with joy ...

The reservoir stood in blocks of ornamental stones that a local builder fixed in place. We needed to speak with a specialist provider in the reservoir tank we were building was a bit unusual - and, finally, a few weeks later, check the tank.

The first trip to the store

My excitement was extreme as we head to the local bank to obtain fragments that would be needed to begin:

• Gravel
• filter and aerator
• Illumination
• Solar --
• Cleaner (gravel VAC).

When I returned I removed the tank and checked to ensure no leakage, then began to put gravel (after washing gravel to ensure that the powder was removed). At that time, no particular need, since the water is disturbed at the first gravel added. He said one third of a tank of water and began to shape the land to the way I wanted. At this stage, I added a few water-purifiers and chlorine in the tank.

Ok then placed in the filter and aerator, and also added the element heating. All this was kept off until it ended in the tank. The remaining water is then added - and I have a tray plastic floating on the surface to ensure there was not much movement of water, which means that my country remains as I carved the wanted.

Next all the equipment was turned on and left for two days.

Who was back in the shop for two things:
• Many plants and:
• diffusion of CO2 to help plant growth

The next day, plants growing in well-ordered and my tank hot down the shop again to get my first fish.

The first fish.

Plati I love the color range is fantastic - But all carriers are living a good place to start. Mollies, swordtail, guppy or Plati are ideal for your water to zero. This bike is generally called and it is really the growth of good bacteria in the tank - which in turn by waste from the rupture. So just add a little fish the first or waste will kill the fish before the bacteria goes to work.

Five platia later and they are floating in their plastic bag on the tank surface. It was just to equalize the temperature of the water, then after a few minutes, I leave a little water tank in the bag a few occasions. Finally five appearances and their way into the tank again.

Technically, the fish waste is ammonia and must be decomposed by bacteria to nitrite, then nitrate, is what helps plants grow. This cycle must be developed in the tank if you keep fish in good healthy and happy and it usually takes about 8 weeks to resolve. Even then, my advice would be to add fish slowly til all are established.

With time and patience.

My wife and I finally decided that the cichlids Tanganyika cichlids and Malawi have been our hobby real (with some Kribs dwarf lying) and we managed to raise a few different types, including Caeruleus Labidochromis or more commonly, cichlids Canary Neolamprologus leleupi good or yellow Tanganyika. At a time when our tank is a big Splash yellow joy.

The night, now it just changes television, stick to see the aquarium - and soothe our worries ....

Splashing Tetras include Tetra, Rummy Nose Tetra and Lemon Tetra. Tetras are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of five or more, because they feel safer in large groups. Zebra Danios as danios and Pearl danios also shoaling fish and are best seen on the banks of five or more.

Consist of barbed barbel popular Tigre, five bands Barb, Cherry Barb, Barb Checker and aluminum foil Barb. Beards are considered tweezers order and is not recommended to be kept with fish that have long flowing fins.

Gouramis and Anabantoids consist Siamese Fighter fish, also known as Betta splendens. Gouramis consist Gourami Pearl Gourami Dwarf gourami thick lips, and Honey Gourami Kissing gourami. Betta splendens consist of variation of the crescent, Delta variation, variation Super Delta Velo Tail variation, variation Plakat and the wild type. Betta splendens can not be housed together and the males fight if kept together. Betta splendens are best kept individually in 3-gallon aquariums without tank mates because they are aggressive fish semi. Gouramis Betta Splendens both breathing air and surface water and should not be kept in jars of Lilly.

Viviparous as guppies, Mollies, Platys, Swordtails Halfbeaks community and are not harmful to fish and other fish. Oscar grow up to be a foot long and are therefore aggressive fish should be kept in large semi aggressive fish. Discus fish are delicate and require pristine water conditions and the disc is not recommended for beginners.

Corydoras Catfish and Loaches and are best suited to community aquariums. These bottom-dwelling fish work in the garbage and eat the uneaten food in the aquarium, but it is important to provide sinking pellets of these fish on a regular basis. Plecostomas also known as sucker mouth catfish and can help to clean algae in your aquarium. Your diet should be supplemented with pellets of seaweed and driftwood to chew. The common Plecostomos grows up to 16 inches and are not Ideal fish for small aquariums. The bottom-dwelling fish can not eat fish poop, as commonly believed and therefore regular water changes with filtration is required even if you keep these fish.

What would be more docile and "Oscar tropical fish as you could get that could live in a small tank?

Only coz I thought I would ask for a small tank about 30 gallons, but with fish that can be tamed, doing things such as consumption of food from your hand or to admit that when I see you. Preferably something that lives on his own, but does not bother me. Ideally, it would have an Oscar, but the tanks are too expensive ... Thanks

The convicts are fish that I recommend. I have a male and a female in a 4 foot tank with 2 Oscars and a catfish. They are very bad they pursue and bite catfish and Oscar de la Liga occasion. It's pretty funny Watching 2 small a fish caught a 5 times larger than themselves.

Cichlid Tropical Fish

The best way to begin to see tropical fish discussion is to determine what is meant by the term "tropical". In the strict sense of the word is applied to the portion of land located between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, but things are never that simple. Nature has to do with the lines on a map, and rather prefer to plants and animals to colonize areas best suited to their own needs for a fruitful life - and the temperature can be only one aspect of their needs. So when it comes to tropical fish disk, we must consider all aspects of its natural environment.

The record belongs to the class of cichlid fish, and of course, life in the calm warm waters of the Amazon River in South America. Discus have a single opening in either side, a broken lateral line and scales cycloid. The popularity of tropical fish disk however, has led to specialized breeders to develop many new color, body and fins ways to comply with the wishes of the aquarium hobby. In fact, outside of nature, the genetics of the original species are a spectacle rare these days.

The natural habitat of fish disc include small streams, creeks, and freshwater areas around the Amazon River. In nature, live album among submerged tree roots and branches near the coast. The album uses these underwater features to protect against the dam. Nature has wild black disk evolved with horizontal stripes act as camouflage and helps the fish to blend in with its surroundings.

There are thousands of species of fish living in the waters around the world, and tropical fish are just disc one. What is important to remember though is that each requires a particular set parameter to live and reproduce successfully. To keep the disc in the aquarium, it is vital to understand how they work, and what conditions they need to thrive, and variations and how stress can affect them. Armed with this knowledge, you can analyze the behavior and needs of their pets when they leave the Amazon for a home in your aquarium. Want to know more discussions about keeping aquarium fish?

What is the difference between tropical fish and cichlids?

or is there one? When I went to Petco had nearly two servings of fish. Tropical and cichlids. Any information would be great: D

People have the false impression of cichlids. Yes, some species are known to are very aggressive, as the Oscar, Green Terror, and others. But this shit kill any cichlids cichlid is not bull. I breed cichlids from Malawi and 7 dams have now. We have a tank of 180 gallons all male show. In this tank, also have different types of catfish (Featherfin and cute), a yoyo loach, 4 Plecos bristlenose, 6 darts tiger, 5 spikes Odessa, 2 bala sharks, a shark and red tail. Beards are smaller and not when they enter one of the cichlids hurt. Note that men are supposed to be the most aggressive and I mbuna, 2 drones. My husband tried to feed the guppies cichlids awhile back. He put in two small tanks and our dominant male, Corwin, actually defended. They were released two days later. The difference is that these fish have personalities. They're not just stupid slaves to swim and shit all day. Therefore, may be struggling as when two people disagree. Cichlids prefer harder water also with a higher pH. Fish are also very robust and have a life expectancy around 10-15 years with proper care. They are really a wonderful mix of fish. But because there are more than 800 species in Lake Malawi, excluding the species of Tang lake, Lake Victoria, New World, Central America, and so on, all persons concerned should investigate the species like to know what is the most compatible. Usually stick with the same area is the best bet. But do not let anyone scare you, because of the aggression. These are wonderful fish!

Correct temperature for a tropical fish tank?

Hello:) I have a tank that I am in the submission for tropical fish. I managed to maintain the 5 gold fish for 5 months and then I have another tank. Now I'm wondering, since this reservoir is 40 gallons. How many fish can I save? And in his opinion, What is the best kind to get and work well together! However, my main question is, what is the correct temperature for the heater? Thank you very much

Most tropical fish in general, be fair and temperatures between 75 and 80. I keep most of my tanks in about 77-78oF. Discus companies as slightly warmer and live a little cooler. Again, the types and number depends on what type of fish you like. If you want a tank aggressive, try a couple of cichlids such as Jack Dempsey or African cichlids. If you want a community tank and pleasant to work with a tank to go to school from 8 10 medium-sized tetras, a pair of angel fish and six to eight cats Cory. Before putting in place, because research on the fish you like and make sure they are compatible.

What are the colors, freshwater fish, tropical max 7.8 inches long. ?

I like fish, tropical colors. What fish are arriving 6.9 inches and are very colorful and tropical. I also like the fish that can feed the fish fattening occasionally. something like an Oscar, but smaller. I thought that Jack Dempsey, but lifting it.

Feeder fish, such as food goldfish and red roses are not good for other fish. They are very fat and low in nutritional value. They are also usually filled with pests and diseases. Never should be used only rarely be treated, and only after that are carefully quarantined. In addition, food fish are not natural for an Oscar - they do much better in pellets of cichlids, the insects and worms. If you want a fish just to feed other fish, forget it. However, with regard to your first question - Are there many types of cichlids This form of description. Some of the barbs and tetras get too big and colorful.

is a tropical fish or parrot pink freshwater pet store?

I think you are probably referring to parrot cichlid red blood, and perhaps a little confusing. Refers to the warm tropical waters .... freshwater. The other is salt water. So whatever type of parrot cichild you look you will be in hot water sweet (tropical) fish, if you want to refer to it. No salt water. I think that is the question you are asking. Hope it helps.
Tropical fish are like those of other species in many respects, and that includes the fact that they have diseases or disorders that may resemble other animals, but are specific of the fish themselves. A good example is tumors. Just like humans, cats or dogs can get cancer or other tumor types, tropical fish, it can.

The main difference is that treatment in fish is nearly impossible, depending on the type and location of the mass. Not only are difficult to handle than one person could have clear visual access to them, but such things as surgery is basically the question. The tumors usually appear as a bulge under the skin or fish.

This is a package or a different mass, unlike the white fuzz of skin diseases. For the most part, the tumors are benign, although it is possible that a growing While the fish quality of life decreases and may have to euthanize them. One type of tumor treatment is successful, is the type that forms under the skin of the gills, making it stay open. The cause is usually a malfunction of the thyroid.

Remove the fish to a hospital tank, and add 1 mg of potassium iodide per gallon of water. The improvement may be slow, and complete treatment can take up to four weeks. Internal tumors can be well advanced before the fish shows signs such as swollen abdomen. These cases are invariably fatal, with rapid growth that cause the fish lose their ability to swim or eat, when you should consider euthanasia.

Keeping tropical fish at room temperature?

I live in Florida and had several aquariums in my life but I have never used the same heater tropical fish. I have kept the angels, tetras, cichlids parrot, Oscar, goldfish, Plecos, Corys and bettas in the same temperature. (tanks different, course), had almost all my fish are thriving, and I wondered if the tropical fish such as neon, and things can be stored at room temperature (I guess about 73 degrees, probably colder), because they all seem to thrive for me?

Uh ... Some species are doing very well at low temperatures. But if the case needs a warmer environment, and put that with time the fish health to deteriorate. But honestly, if the temperature will vary somewhat, heater is needed. And Id Still Stand my ground with tropical species that require more heating in the first place. Most tropical species do better on all 78-82F.

The online guide to fish identification tropical fish - especially in the South Pacific - Okinawa?

Anyone can enter a tropical fish guide online? I hope to one, with lots of photos to look, and then you can click on the photo for information on fish and similar-looking fish. I am a diver under water, and took many photos recently that I hope will be identified. My book does not have much fish in them! Help. Thanks
