Moon Light
If an umbra creates a deep shadow, how can the moon be a full moon if there is no light from the sun on it?
Doesn't the light from the sun make the moon light up? If a lunar eclipse casts light over the earth and then shadows over the moon, wouldn't that make the moon invisible? If that's the case, why is there a bright full moon on a lunar eclipse? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
The moon usually turns a deep reddish color during a lunar total eclipse. The moon is in the actual part of the shadow of the earth, but the atmosphere refracts the sunlight so it is bent and still lights up the moon a little. It looks red for the same reason the sunrises and sunsets are reddish in color, a lot of air refracting the long waves.

Bulb Turbo
same problem but worse now?
I have a 1987 toyota supra non turbo. I have changed bulbs fuses and i still have no tail lights or rear side markers. I have headlights and brake lights and front side markers plus the blinkers. Now none of the gages are working in the car is this going to be caused by faulty wiring. If anyone has a wiring diagram could you email me with it?
Sounds like bad ground in rear of car, pull back carpet in rear, you should see two to three wires going to body make sure they are tight and clean.

A flashlight, also called a torch is a portable device used for illumination and usually has battery cells for power. A flashlight usually consists of a small electric light bulb, a compartment for batteries which power the bulb, a switch for the bulb and a parabolic reflector for focusing the light. The battery compartment also acts like a handle for holding the flashlight.
Though the flashlight is of a very simple design, it is a relatively new invention. It came into being after the incandescent light bulb and the dry cell was invented.
The name "flashlight" has a humorous background. In the early days of the dry cell, the power of a dry cell battery was very limited. To save the dry cell from discharging quickly, the flashlight was operated intermittently and just long enough to check out the environments, hence the name "flashlight".
There are many flashlight designs available in the market today. Like dry cell flash lights, rechargeable acid type flashlights, rechargeable dry cell type, LED (Light Emitting Diode) type, solar charging type, electromagnet type, head lamp type, underwater type, rifle or gun light etc.
The dry cell flashlight is the simplest design and used in most households and consists of dry cells to power the electric bulb. As the batteries discharge the illumination dims in these flashlights.
Rather than buying a flashlight, which needs battery replacement frequently, a better design is to use rechargeable batteries, which can be lead acid type or dry cell type.
Some use solar panels for recharging during daytime. Electromagnet type uses a clockwork arrangement or a knob arrangement. In clockwork arrangement a spring mechanism is used to power the flashlight and has to be wound as required. The knob type arrangement has a moving coil or magnet which moves when the knob is pressed and charges a capacitor, which provides power to the bulb.
LED type flashlights are of a recent design. Though LED:s have been around for decades, the LED flashlight was not available till late 90s because the LED:s could not be operated continuously and their luminosity was very poor.
LED flashlights consume very little power compared to the conventional electric bulb as LED:s do not produce as much heat as electric bulb. LED flashlights usually have a metal body to dissipate heat by conduction since LED:s do not dissipate heat through the light beam like electric bulbs do.
A headlamp type has a flashlight on a helmet so that the hands are free. Underwater type is a special flashlight, which is used for illuminating underwater objects and is waterproof. Rifle or gun lights are special flashlights used for illumination of target.
Flashlights are fairly cheap and available in attractive designs. The price ranges from a few dollars to a couple of hundred dollars.

What kind of heat lamp bulb is best for a leopard gecko?
I have a leopard gecko and i had a red bulb before but my mom just bought a blacklight one. What type is best? Also, since I live in California it's in the high 90s and 100s is a heat lamp necessary?
You want to stay away from black bulbs because they can see that spectrum and it's going to mess with his day/night cycle. You really should take it back and get a red reptile bulb. They don't see this spectrum very well, so it doesn't bother their eyes.
The wattage you get is going to depend on the temperature in your house. I doubt your house is in the high 90s, so I would assume a 100W bulb to be fine, but you really need to get yourself a good digital thermometer with a probe to measure your temps more accurately. You can pick one up at Target or Walmart for about $10. Also, pick up a light dimmer switch so you can turn the bulb's intensity down if the temps are over your good range of 88-92 in the hottest part of the tank.

Is it safe to put water conditioner in an aquarium?
Is it safe to put in in the aquarium WITH your pet fish inside?
I am wonder this because I am constantly worried on his poop accumulation.
I currently use: Prime, Fresh water and saltwater.
It is under the brand of Seachem.
And it removes chlorine, chloramine, ammonia.
Detoxifies Nitrit and Nitrate
and it provides slime coat.
It als indicates that you should put it in aquarium directly, but it is better to new water.

Is it safe to put aquarium water conditioner when my pet fish inside of there?
Prime is a popular water conditioner product. Many people I know use this product. When you own large tanks, one of the most popular way to change water is to use the product called Python which involves adding water directly from the tap into your tank through a tube! While adding tap water, you add water conditioner like Prime. As someone mentioned, unless you heavily overdose, this is completely safe. I personally try to avoid it by pre-measuring it in a cup, dilute it, and poor it slowly as new water gets added into the tank from the tap.
The real question though, is why are you adding it?
Poop will generate ammonia, which will be converted to nitrite then into nitrate by the cycling process. This is a natural process that happens in every aquarium tanks. If you have enough bacteria in the tank (you should), then this process is pretty much instant. You do weekly water changes to remove nitrates and your fishes are fine. Best way to remove poop is to do siphon cleaning while water changes. Some poops here and there will not cause your tank to spike in ammonia (very toxic to fishes).
My advice:
- Just do weekly water changes. During this change, try to suck out as much poop as you can.
- During this water change, use Prime, based on the amount of water you are adding into the tank.
- Don't use prime outside of water changes except if you have emergency situation. (like ammonia spike).

Don't make the mistake of treating your $10 fish like you did the goldfish that you won at the carnival when you were a kid. Take the time to learn how to properly set up an aquarium with things like aquarium water conditioners and both you and your fish will be happy. Fish Tank Water
Is fish tank water good for use to water plants?
I thought being as a fish tank creates such things as algae, etc, I figured that the tank water would be healthier for plants than just regular tap water, any ideas?
Most well established aquariums have a good concentration of nitrate due to the nitrogen cycle in the tank. Fish will create ammonia, which is eaten by beneficial bacteria to produce toxic nitrite. The nitrite is then eaten by another beneficial bacteria to produce non-toxic nitrate, which is then freely introduced back into the aquarium.
Fortunately for you, nitrate is a main ingredient in most fertilizers... so technically speaking, yes, aquarium water is great for watering your plants. =]

what is 'head' for a water pump?
I am looking online at specs for various water pumps for a hydronic water heating system, and I need a certain gallon-per-minute flow for my shop. But all the pump specs show different GPM according to the 'head'...what is that?
Basically, head is, how many feet a pump will pump a fluid (water)straight in the air, through a pipe of course.. The maximum head is determined by the outside diameter of the impeller and the speed of the rotating shaft. To figure how much head you need, you need to consider, friction loss, type of fluid being pump, elbows, etc.
a pump does not create pressure, it only creates flow. Pressure is the measurement of the resistance to flow. You tell a manufacture what your needs are and they should be able to come up with a pump with the best efficiency point;point where operating head capacity coincides with maximum efficiency.
